Bertho van Wyk - Captain of Rustenberg
Hoerskool Rustenberg captain Bertho van Wyk knows that his team will have to be on top of their game if they want to extend their five-year winning streak against Hoerskool Brits.
The solid inside centre started playing for the first team last year and is happy to report that their form has been much better this year, with the highlight so far being their victory over Florida.
As high as the confidence levels in Van Wyk's team are, the skipper knows that they are in for a tough time of it in their FNB Classic Clash with Brits on Friday night.
"They are a good team so we will not be taking them lightly, they have some big guys in the front row and we are expecting them to come at us around the fringes so good defence will be important," he revealed.
The promising midfielder has been selected for the Leopards Craven Week team, and as the goal-kicker is expected to go head-to-head with the Brits captain and flyhalf MC Venter who he will play alongside at Craven Week.
"He is a very good player who is a very accurate kicker so we will have to stay disciplined but we must watch the whole team because he is not the only player," said the Rustenberg captain.
Van Wyk believes that the key for his side on Friday will be to play to their strengths and use their pace to get on top of Brits.
"We have a very mobile and fit pack so we will play the game at pace and hopefully it all goes well," he said.
