Bishops Host Rondebosch
On Saturday, Rondebosch will make the short distance along Tullyallen Road from Rondebosch to Bishops for the second match between the neighbourly rivals this year, a Premier Interschools match.
They have been doing this happily for years. Of course, there is tension and massive effort with lots of prestige for victory but - normally it is a gentlemanly affair. Should anybody spoil the spirit of the day, by deeds on the field or words off it, he should be sent far away, a horrible iconoclast.
There will be a massive crowd at Bishops with lots of meetings of old friends.
The two teams met at the end of the second term. Bishops were too fast and too skilful for the home side and won 52-14.
This century the two teams have met 27 times. Bishops have won 21, Rondebosch five and one has been drawn. Bishops have scored over 70 points on two occasions, their biggest winning margin being 68 points. But then they have the skill, speed and support play to do that to a team which does not shut them down early.
Season so Far.
Neither school has had the sort of season they expect to have. The 'country' schools have proved fearsome and Wynberg have again managed the Peninsula Triple Crown, beating Bishops, Rondebosch and SACS each time they have played.
Bishops have played 16 matches, winning 10 and losing six.
Rondebosch have played 18 matches, winning six and losing 12.
They have each played against six teams ranked on the FNB Top 20 and have both lost to all six. In fact the six Bishops defeats have been to these strong teams.

Craven Week
It was rather freakish that Bishops had six players in the Western Province Craven Week team.
Bishops: Gerard Pieterse, who played fullback at Craven Week but is in the centre on Saturday, Justin Heunis, who is not playing on Saturday, Jez MacIntyre, Saud Abrahams, Mervano da Silva, JP Smith
Rondebosch: Zain Davids
Team Changes
Bishops have three changes to their backline. Justin Heunis broke an arm playing against Drostdy last Saturday and will not play. Cornel Smit, who has been the team's goal-kicker has a slightly strained hamstring and is on the bench. Wing André Manuel is also on the bench his place taken bay Jesse Wilensky who had an excellent game at fullback in the first match. Tristan Leyds, who comes in to fullback is a brother of Dylan Leyds. The forwards are unchanged.
Rondebosch have made a massive change, bringing Craven Week loose forward Zain Davids into centre. He takes the place of vice-captain Clyde March who moves to the left wing while Kyle Ballakistan, who has had a good season, moves to the right. The other change is at centre where Rory Thomson takes the place of Jay Stevens. Jamie King comes into the loose trio in the place of Davids. Byron Bowes is at lock instead of Lihle Kula and Josh Emslie at loosehead in the place of Chris Newby,
