Captain's profile: Anrich Alberts
Framesby captain Anrich Alberts is a fine example of a player who only gets better with age.
Alberts followed up his selection for the Eastern Province Under-18 Academy team last year by captaining the side this season.
At Framesby, Alberts, as hooker, is the rock of a formidable and experienced tight five.
“Our tight five have played together for two years now,” explains Alberts.
“Overall we have a good combination of experience and youth. The grade 11 players boost the team with fresh energy.”
Touching on the team’s season, Alberts says: “We’ve picked up some good wins against Glenwood, Marlow, Oakdale, HTS Drostdy and HTS Middelburg, but we’ve picked up a few vital injuries as we move towards this weekend’s FNB Classic Clash.”
Saturday will see Framesby take on Nico Malan and Alberts says accuracy will be key. “They are a very good team this year with some speed on the wing. The team who make less mistakes on the day will take the win.”
