Captain's profile: Badashe Avuya

In 2015, Nstonkotha SS walked away with a defeat and it is still really fresh in Avuya's mind. The captain realises that side is are the clear underdogs heading into this match. However, the skipper is hopeful his side can continue to build on their successful season by producing a rare win.

"Recent history shows that Zweliyandile SS have had an upper hand in the rivalry between the two schools as they have managed to beat us in most of the Classic Clash matches.

"I know that they will come with the same eagerness to beat us again on Friday. I don't expect anything less from them because they are known for playing an attack minded style of rugby.

"All we can do is stay focussed and play the brand of rugby we have been implementing throughout the season. We have had a successful and exciting season, so we just have to believe in that and concentrate on doing our basics correctly," Avuya said.

Missing certain first-choice players for Friday's encounter, Nstonkotha will largely rely on Avuya to be on top form, not only as a flyhalf but as a leader as well.

"Leading the first XV is an honour, when I was named captain I was happy and excited, but with the captaincy role comes big responsibility and a Classic Clash match just adds additional pressure. However, I believe in taking each game as it comes," he added.
