Captain's profile: JW le Roux
The class of 2016 will be radiating with confidence given their great season. However, recent history clearly indicates that Aliwal-Noord have established themselves as the favourites in this match-up, winning both the 2014 and 2015 editions.
Le Roux realizes his team will be facing an uphill battle.
"We have had a very successful season thus far, which has only consisted of one loss. Aliwal-Noord have won the past two years and going to their home ground is always a tough task. We should be careful not to underestimate them.
"They are one of our biggest matches of the season and I am sure they will be well prepared," he said.
Commenting on his teams' preparations, the captain stated they will take to the field with a well-balanced side.
"For Saturday's match we have a well-balanced side with good depth. All the players playing on Saturday have proven themselves throughout the season," le Roux added.
The captain has two years first XV experience and has developed a calm demeanour as a fullback - something that is very rare at schoolboy level.
"I feel that I am a good decision maker and am solid in defense. As a captain, I have the ability to stay calm and lead by example, which has proven to be key to the team's success. Being named captain is a huge privilege and honour, and definitely the highlight of my rugby career. I also realized that it is a big responsibility.
"But as a leader I depend a lot on my teammates. I am a strong believer in unity and pride," he stated.
The 18-year-old's future plan is to study Agriculture at the University of Free State but he would also want to continue playing the sport he is so passionate about.
