Captain's profile: Terrence Ludix
Ludix has been part of the first XV as their outside centre for three years. That in itself is a major achievement as he is a grade 10 learner.
"Playing in my first game as part of the first XV back in 2014 is the highlight of my career thus far. It is very special to me because my debut was against De Kruine. So I feel like there is a bit of pressure on me to lead the Tigers," Ludix said.
The area of De Doorns literally comes to a standstill when this match takes place as the community flocks to the stadium to create a festive atmosphere.
"When Hexvallei plays De Kruine, over 4000 people come to watch the derby and we will do our very best and make our supporters proud. This is a match that can go either way and the winner cannot be predicted.
"We beat them in the 2015 edition of the Classic Clash and we know that they will give us another hard game on Saturday when we renew our rivalry because they are a very good team. For this game, we are a very young group of players but each player will bring a different level of excitement to the game," he added.
The season has been a successful one thus far for Hexvallei as they have lost just one game, however, Ludix believes the sport is not about winning or losing but rather about being the best player you can be and playing as a cohesive unit.
With a few years left in his schooling career, Ludix plans to keep encouraging his teammates with the hope of taking them to the next level and increasing their focus on the games in the coming seasons.
"The most important thing for me and my team is to learn from our past mistakes in order for us to succeed in the future," he said.
