DHS's 150th Birthday Party
One of the best ways to celebrate a birthday is to have friends around and play games. DHS is doing that.
Rugby is playing its part in the celebration and on St Patrick's Day, 17 March 2016, DHS is having a rugby party - 14 schools who are close and long-standing friends, playing seven matches.
It promises to be a fun occasion down on the Van Heerden field at DHS and School, who had a good win over Hilton over the past weekend, will play Kearsney in the main match.

The Van Heerden Field takes its name from Izak van Heerden, one of the greatest, most innovative of coaches, who taught at DHS.
One of the greatest rugby men ever in Natal was Bill Payne, who also taught at DHS though he was an Old Boy of Maritzburg College. As if to repay the favour, the most famous schoolboy coach at Maritzburg College was an Old Boy of DHS - Skonk Nicholson.
But then it was College that taught School to play, when AS Langley of the College staff, who coached and captained the College team, became headmaster of School in 1910.
