FNB Top 20 - Final for 2006

Paul Roos rule!

In this year when we celebrated the centenary of the first team to be called the Springboks, the team captained by Paul Roos, Paul Roos end the season as the No.1 team in the FNB Top 20.

That was probably the easiest decision of all as we puzzled and pondered in drawing up our final FNB Top 20, starting over afresh with all possible information in front of us and the schools in alphabetical order.

We did try to balance success with the calibre of the opposition, rewarding success while taking into account the difficulty of the opposition. Teams like Muir of Uitenhage and Diamantveld of Kimberley did so well but they played very few of the teams who would have appeared in the FNB Top 20 during the year.

The following is the complete list of schools whose 1st XVs have been in the FNB Top 20 during 2006 - 36 teams in all: Affies, Bishops, Boland Landbou, DHS, Dale, Daniël Pienaar, Diamantveld, Eldoraigne, Florida, Framesby, Glenwood, Grey Bloem, Grey PE, HTS Middelburg, Hoërskool Middelburg, Jim Fouché, KES, Kearsney, Kemptonpark, Marais Viljoen, Maritzburg College, Marlow, Monument, Muir, Nelspruit, Oakdale, Outeniqua, Paarl Boys' High, Paarl Gim, Paul Roos, Pretoria Boys High, Queen's, Strand, Tygerberg, Waterkloof, Westville.
