Free State are U17 7s Champions
On day one each of the 16 teams - the 14 provinces plus Limpopo and SA LSEN - played each other in their pools.
Day 2 was the big sorting day, starting with quarterfinals. Then came the semifinals and lastly the finals.
In their quarterfinal Free State beat Western Province, the 2017 winners, 26-17. In the semifinals they beat the Pumas 19-7 and so to the final where they met Eastern Province.
Eastern Province beat the Valke 21-17 in the quarterfinal and the Blue Bulls 29-14 in the semifinal.
And so to the final, In which the Free State beat Eastern Province 38-21.
There were no unbeaten teams at the tournament, for Free State lost to the Golden Lions in their pool match.
