Gimmies go to Bishops

Paarl Gim go to Rondebosch on Saturday to play Bishops, a match that was first played 90 years ago .

It is usually a close encounter, in fact a hard battle. In recent years Gim have tended to have the better of Bishops. In 2012 they set a record with a 57-3 victory. Last year it was a high-scoring match, Gim winning 52-27.

Season So Far

The season is young but both sides have several matches.

Bishops went on tour to Ireland. There they had a chance to build as a team and where they won three of their four matches.

Gim have had some tough opposition in South Africa. After beating Durbanville 32-10, they beat powerful Monument of Krugersdorp 43-29, Menlopark of Pretoria 38-23, the Africa Pacific Dragons 50-24 and Hartpury College of Gloucester 41-12, the latter two at the World Rugby Festival in Stellenbosch.
