Good win for Nico Malan

Playing in the Grahamstown heat at the Graeme College Rugby Day Nico Malan of Humansdorp beat Dale College of King William's Town 28-16 after leading 14-8 at half-time.

Both sides attacked and defended well but Nico Malan dominated the line-outs, mainly through the efforts of JJ Killian at No.2, who took several Dale throws. The Nico Malan pack also had the better of the scrums but the Dale backs were dangerous with counterattacks from broken play. They were able to profit from the excessive and aimless Nico Malan kicking.

Nico Malan's outside centre Selvin Davids again was an elusive runner, scrumhalf Ruben Botha had a great game and scored two tries and lock Alandré van Rooyen caught the eyed with strong runs and good tackling.
