Green Machine meets Wit Bulle

Glenwood High School of Durban will play host to Hoërskool Monument of Krugersdorp this Saturday, in a feast of interschool competition that will include 15 rugby matches.

The weekend's visit will culminate in the 1st XV clash on Dixons in the early afternoon, and it is likely to be an excellent match.

Glenwood's rugby is the most successful amongst KZN schools, as Monnas are amongst Witwatersrand schools. In 2018, Glenwood were ranked third on the Top 20, Monnas eighth.

They are clearly amongst the very best rugby schools in South Africa.

Season So Far

Glenwood have won all four of their matches against other schools while Monument have won four and lost two, but the two losses were close encounters against the Paarl powerhouses - Boys' High and Gim.

Glenwood and Monument already have a common opponent - and that a team from the South Island of New Zealand. They played John McGlashan College n at the World Rugby Festival in Stellenbosch last month. Glenwood beat the Kiwis 32-17 while Monnas won 48-10.

Glenwood have also beaten Westville (22-7), KES (48-36) and, last week, Maritzburg College (15-7).

Monnas have beaten Nelspruit (71-7), Hartpury College of England (32-21) and Menlopark (30-8).
