Hilton captain - Jayson Gouws

Jayson Gouws will be hoping his team can reproduce last years performance against College where they beat them at home for the first time in 32 years.

Standing at 1.90 and almost 90kgs, Gouws is an imposing figure who is already being notice when he was picked for a KZN invitational team and recently the KZN academy team.

The time he spent playing representative rugby has taught him a lot and humbled him greatly, the skills of the other players really sticking with him.

Gouws' highlight of his rugby career has been his announcement as the Hilton captain.

"I lead from the front as the captain, by example and with absolute optimism," the big lock said.

"I am calm and can maintain a cool head on the field."

As a player, Gouws offers his team stability in the set pieces.

"I have really good positional skills, my line out work is good as well as my restart taking, I am also pretty mobile for my size," he added.

This week's Classic Clash against College is massive for Gouws and his team and as such his message has been one of domination.

"We have to make our presence felt, at the same time we must stick to our position specific objectives and finally just dominate the game physically," he concluded.
