Jeppe close at St John's
Viadana of Northern Italy, thumped on the first day, have won their next two matches, coming from behind on the third day from 19-7 down at half time to win 24-19.
Hosts St John's got their first win of their own tournament when they beat the Golden Lions XV 24-14 after leading 19-0 at half-time.
In the third day's play Paul Roos and Monument, two giants of South African schools rugby met, and it was close. The Stellenboschers won 17-13 after leading 10-0 at half-time.
Hilton led St Benedict's 24-17 at half-time. The second half was not as generous in its scoring but Hilton extended their lead.
Again Jeppe stood up to a theoretically more powerful side with lots of courage, but Nellies just kept noses in front. At half-time Nelspruit led 29-26 at half time. Three points ahead at the break they won by two points though Jeppe scored five tries to Nellies' four. It was a great match. In the last match of the Festival, Paarl Boys' High were much too good for Garsfontein, scoring four tries to none. They led 19-6 at the break.
Three teams ended the Festival undefeated - Nelspruit, Paarl Boys' High and Paul Roos.
