Jock Hobbs Memorial: Day 1 Results

The sixteen provincial sides taking part in the inaugural Jock Hobbs Memorial National Under-19 Tournament in Taupo kicked off on Sunday with wins for Hawke's Bay, Southland, Manawatu, Canterbury, the Heartland XV, Waikato, Wellington and Auckland A.

Day 2 takes place on Wednesday, 1 October 2014 which is by way of semifinals with the final round of matches on Saturday, 4 October 2014.

Results, Day 1

Hawke's Bay vs Auckland B, 15-3

Southland vs Counties Manukau, 27-19

Manawatu vs Northland, 36-0

Canterbury vs Bay of Plenty, 32-6

Heartland XV vs Tasman 25-5

Waikato vs Otago 37-17

Wellington vs North Harbour, 46-0

Auckland A vs Taranaki 23-12

Day two of the tournament will see traditional provincial contests with Wellington taking on Auckland A and Waikato against Canterbury with the winners advancing through to the finals of the Graham Mourie Cup. Competing for the Michael Jones Trophy semifinals are Hawke's Bay who take on Manawatu while Southland are up against the New Zealand Heartland team.
