Kingswood too strong for Muir

Kingswood's large forwards made good use of the torrid weather conditions at Muir running out 32-15 victors. At the break it was 10 points apiece.

Muir opened the scoring when flyhalf Darren Wates saw a gap in the defence and punished the visiting Kingswood. Scrumhalf Joel Wates kicked the conversion.

Kingswood kept it tight because of weather conditions and crossed the line twice. Muir levelled the score through a penalty by Joel Wates.

The second-half saw the weather worsen and handling errors of plenty from both sides. Kingswood's forwards kept it tight to retain possession and also used the wind to their benefit to keep Muir pinned in their half.

Kingswood ran in four more tries through mistakes by the Muir side as basics let them down and Kingswood capitalised.

Muir put a few phases together getting go forward ball and rewarded when flank Conor Spillane crossed the line.

The Muir tight five played exceptionally well to secure ball for the backs. Mention must be made of Blake Callahan and lock Lutho Njobe. Flank partners Conor Spillane and Ray Triegaard stood out and were “all over” the field disrupting the oppositions. Darren Wates stood out in the Muir backline.
