Ludio Williams - Captain of Schoonspruit

There is no doubt that Hoerskool Schoonspruit captain Ludio Williams is the star of his team, but he will need some staunch support when they take on Piketburg on Saturday.

The physical No.8 who is a destructive ball-carrier and a solid option at the back of the line-out has been to the Under-13 Craven Week, the Grant Khomo U16 week and played at Craven Week last year as well as being called up to the Boland U19 team, so his pedigree is certainly not in doubt.

However, he leads a fairly young Schoonspruit side, and although their results have been good this year with 14 wins from their 16 matches he knows that nothing less than a ull effort will get them the victory they need this weekend.

"Our results have been good so there is confidence in the team, but lately we have been disappointed with our line-outs and general forward play so we will have to improve on that," he explained.

Williams expects the well-drilled Piketburg forward pack to take his side on up front, and has taken it upon himself to lead by example in this area and take them on physically.

"Piketburg play with a lot of structure and they do the basics well. Our strength is probably our backline but our forwards will have to play well to give them a chance to shine," he said.

As a Matric who has played at provincial level for many years Williams is well-respected by the rest of his fairly inexperienced team, and he has called for a special effort to take the spoils in the big derby this weekend.

"Our boys must just give their best and stay focused, the guts will bring glory," he said.
