Marlow stumble in Humansdorp
Marlow, the agricultural school outside Cradock, took 11 teams down to Humansdorp and played Nico Malan and, in a few cases, Humansdorp Secondary. They won six and drew one of the matches.
In the 1st XV match, Marlow scored two excellent tries and led 16-15 at the break. The Wolramme scored two tries and two penalty goals to four penalty goals and a long-distance drop goal as Nico Malan played with the wind.
In the second half Marlow had the wind behind them but did not play as well as they had in the first half. Losing eighthman Luigy van Jaarsveld and poor discipline seemed to throw Marlow out of kilter. Despite the wind assistance Marlow did not score in the second half while Nico Malan mauled from an attacking line-out late in the match and scored the winning try.
