Rain - No Play

The headmaster of KES, Dave Lovatt, sent out the following statement on Friday:

Dear King Edward VII Community

RE: Cancellation of Pretoria Boys High School fixture

Please be advised that after consultation with the Headmaster of Pretoria Boys High School and the sports staff of both schools, a collective decision has been taken to cancel our winter fixture tomorrow, Saturday, 24 March 2018.

This unfortunate decision has been taken for a number of reasons:

1) The safety of all players and spectators.

2) The fact that all fields (including the Hockey Astro) are waterlogged. We have had in excess of 170mm of rain in the last 60 hours. All weather forecasts point to more rain today and tomorrow.

3) The fields have not been prepared and we will not be able to do any preparations today in any event.

I trust that our communities understand our decision.

Yours sincerely

DCP Lovatt
Headmaster
