SACS Host Quadrangular Sevens
Each of the four Southern Suburbs boys' schools - Bishops, Rondebosch, SACS and Wynberg - will have a team in each of the three age groups - Under-16, Under-15 and Under-14.
There will be 27 matches in all. Each team will play in three matches. Then there will be the two semifinals in each age group, leading to the three finals.
The fields used at SACS will be the adjacent Memorial A and Memorial B. The three Finals will be played on Memorial A.
It should be a day of great rugby fun in which every player will get a chance to run with the ball, tackle and score a try.
The tournament is particularly thanks to the effort of Kyle Brown, the SACS Old Boy who is also the captain of the Blitsbokke whose most recent competition was the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. Also present will be Paul Delport, also a SACS Old Boy who also captained the Blitsbokke and at present is the coach of the South African Sevens Academy.
Other top players are expected to be present.
Brown says: “After such a successful tournament last year and the positive feedback received it only makes sense to do it again. The quality of the players coupled with a quick one-day format makes for another exciting tournament."
