The match in Grahamstown, the one the whole city of saints and scholars knows about, is called K-Day, the day St Andrew's Play Kingswood, Anglican vs Methodist, just a couple of kilometres up the road, a match first played in 1898 when, apparently St Andrew's won. But they did not win on Saturday.

In Gauteng the important matches were knock-outs, in which Monnas had a notable result.

There was also yet another saintly clash in Gauteng when St Benedicts beat St Stithians.

Some of the teams set for Craven Week played and we record their results

Western Province is yet to formally announce its teams but it had a team playing in George.

The Eastern Province Country Districts side played Griquas, but without nine players who were back in Grahamstown playing on K-Day.
