Schools Results - March 25
Thrilling for the winners, that is.
Graeme College held its Rugby Day on Saturday in which the hosts played Selborne in the main match. There was also the Boland Landbou Day in Porterville.
There was a rare match at Paul Roos in Stellenbosch when the touring France Under-17 played a single South African School, Oakdale Landbou. The French have, it seems, just one other match - against Western Province Hub at Athlone Stadium on Wednesday, 29 March 2017. The French team has 25 players.
Oakdale surprised the French with their speed and led 15-0 early in the match but the French came back with two tries and on the stroke of half-time Kevin Viallard kicked a penalty goal which gave the French a slender lead at the break.
In the second half France scored two tries to Oakdale's one to win the match.
Grey College spilled over the Drakensberg with 27 rugby teams, squash players, hockey players, table tennis players and cyclists. And they had fun in the pouring rain.
