St John's Easter Festival Fixtures

St John's College is again holding its popular Easter Festival at its Johannesburg home.


The 1st XVs taking part are Jeppe (Johannesburg), Klein Nederburg (Paarl), Nelspruit, Noordheuwel (Krugersdorp),  Paarl Boys' High, Paul Roos (Stellenbosch), Pretoria Boys High, St Charles (Pietermaritzburg), St John’s (Harare), Scots College (Sydney), Waterkloof  (Pretoria) and the hosts St John's. Of the schools Paarl Boys' High, Nelspruit and Waterkloof ranked in the top 10 of the FNB Top 20 ranking of South African 1st XVs.


Scots College was founded din 1893 by the Presbyterian church and is one of the nine Great Public Schools of New South Wales. Between the prep and the college they run some 40 rugby teams. They compete in the GPS rugby competition along with Newington, Shore, Riverview, St Joseph's and King's. Last year Scots shared the trophy with Newington.


The matches will all be played on the Burger Field with the view up the koppie topped by the stone buildings of the great school. The 1st XVs will play six matches each day and there will also be prep school matches.
