Westville beat neighbours

Kearsney went down 24-17 to near neighbours Westvills on Saturday.

Kearsney College met a physical and motivated Westville side on their Old Boys’ day. The game started slowly, with the first points only going on to the board after about 15 minutes.

Dominance changed throughout the game, but Westville capitalised on the opportunities they had.

Kearsney will rue some of their errors and some of their decisions, which meant they were forced to play catch-up rugby for the whole game.

Kearsney’s never-say-die attitude resulted in a strong fightback and Kearsney scored two tries towards the end of the game which put them within touching distance of Westville.

Kearsney missed the opportunity to level the scores right at the death, but another error meant the chance went begging and Westville emerged 24-17 victors.
