Woodridge edge past Muir

Poor decision making and a lack luster performance caused the Muir side not to play to their potential.

The conditions added to this and numerous handling errors from both sided saw a stop-start game with neither sides getting go forward ball and momentum with ball in hand was hard to maintain.

Muir had their opportunities and could not capitalize to get the score-line in their favour.

Both sides defended well and neither crossed the line during the first half.

The score was level 0-0 at the break.

The second half was not much different with weather conditions and errors a plenty.

The hosts were awarded a penalty in range and took the lead, 3-0. Minutes later after conceding a penalty Muir's defense were caught napping and Woodridge dotted down in the left corner for the first try of the match, 8-0.

The match was still far from over as Muir put a couple of phases together and got themselves into the Woodridge’s red-zone.

A set phase move from a line-out saw flanker Ntsika Fisanti force his way over next to the sticks. Fullback Neo Petepa converted successfully to narrow the deficit to just one point, 7-8.

The Muir side re-gathered the kick, but handling errors and clock were against them. The hosts held on for the 8-7 victory.
