Blink an eye and the season is over. In fact life's season is a short one. But here we are, after much head-banging, with our final Top 20 for 2008.

To draw up this ranking we started from scratch.

We tried to separate Grey College and Paarl Gim but it would not be fair to put either above the other of those two unbeaten teams who, it seems, are never des tinned to play each other.

We also give below all the other teams who were from time to time on the Top 20 - obviously all great rugby schools.
