Bosch moves on from Bok disappointment
SPOTLIGHT: Sharks head coach Sean Everitt believes Curwin Bosch still has plenty of opportunities to prove his worth to the Springbok coaches.
The flyhalf missed out on selection for the upcoming Georgia Tests and the British and Irish Lions series with Bok head Jacques Nienaber opting for regular squad members Handre Pollard and Elton Jantjies and the experienced Morne Steyn.
Steyn won the last of his 66 Test caps against the All Blacks in 2016.
During an online media conference, Everitt said Bosch has moved on from that disappointment and is ready to prove his worth in the colours of the Sharks once again.
After being rested for the opening round win against Griquas in the Currie Cup, Bosch will now start in the No.10 jersey for the Sharks' clash against Western Province in Cape Town on Wednesday.
The Sharks will then face the British and Irish Lions in Johannesburg on Wednesday, July 7.
"It is great to have Curwin back in the mix. Everyone goes through disappointments in rugby and sport for that matter," said Everitt.
"It is not the first time this has happened to him. He is over it and it is an opportunity now to represent the Sharks and an opportunity to put his hand up for selection should the opportunity arise throughout the [B&I Lions] series.
"It’s the nature of the game that there will be injuries, so he has to make sure that he puts in a good performance to show [Director of Rugby] Rassie [Erasmus] and Jacques [Nienaber] that he can add value to the Springboks' cause."

Meanwhile, Everitt provided an update on captain and loose forward Phepsi Buthelezi.
Buthelezi will sit out his team's clash against WP due to concussion.
"He didn’t pass the protocols. He is almost there, so I presume that he will be ready for the British and Irish Lions.
"It was not worth taking the risk.
"He feels 100 percent.
"But on that [return to play] test he didn’t pass all the various categories.
"It is not serious and hopefully he will be back and able to travel with us on Friday," Everitt added.
