Redelinghuys showing positive signs

Redelinghuys sustained a dislocation of his neck at C5/6 level when he collided with Cheetahs hooker Torsten van Jaarsveld during his team's 17-55 Currie Cup Premier Division semifinal defeat at the hands of the Free State Cheetahs.

The 27-year-old underwent surgery on Sunday to reduce the dislocation and stabilise it. He is expected to make a full recovery.

"He was walking in the hospital, and the strength and movement in his arm is improving all the time," said Golden Lions team doctor Rob Collins.

"He may be discharged as early as tomorrow [Wednesday] to come home.

"He and his wife and family are overwhelmed by and really appreciate all the support and prayers."
