Disappointed Dobson lament poor lineouts
REACTION: Western Province Director of Rugby John Dobson expressed his disappointment in his side's 29-37 loss to Griquas in the Currie Cup.
The 2024 Currie Cup campaign was one to forget for the Capetonians, who finished seventh on the Currie Cup table following their defeat in Kimberley.

The Griquas had Western Province's number since 2019, with the latest win marking their eighth win in a row over their Cape rivals.
"A very disappointing result for us, but probably the main objective which was to give our guys who wouldn't play a game now with the postponement [first URC match] to get close to our URC team as possible," said Dobson
He added: "And the guys who didn't play for a long time like [Leolin] Zas, JD [Schickerling], Marcel [Theunissen] Andre-Hugo [Venter] and Neethling [Fouche] all onto the field."
Dobson lamented his side's poor lineout execution but was happy with the scrum performance.
He also praised the Griquas for staying in the fight that ultimately got them the victory and stated that his side clearly need more game time before the start of the 2024/5 URC season.
"We scrummed well, our lineouts were pretty poor, and it cost us the game but credit to Griquas, there's some really good promising players here and they just kept fighting." said Dobson
