'Historic' moment for Bulls

AWARDS: For the first time in the Bulls' history two players have been named the franchise's  Player of the Year award.

Cornal Hendricks and Marco Van Staden have been named the joint winners of Players' of the Year at the Blue Bulls Company combined awards ceremony for the 2020/21 season.

The Bulls revealed that the announcement of Van Staden and Hendricks as joint winners of Players' of the Year marks the "first time in this franchises' proud history,"

The 32-year-old Hendricks, who was honoured last week as SA Rugby's Curre Cup player of the year, also walked away with the Bulls Currie Cup Back of the year.

While Van Staden, set to leave the Bulls later this year for Premiership side Leicester Tigers, was awarded the Super Rugby Unlocked Player of the Year.

Meanwhile, Springboks No.8 Duane Vermeulen continued to add more accolades to his already impressive silverware cabinet.

Fresh from being named the SA Rugby’s Player of the Year and the MyPlayers-driven Players’ Player of the Year for the second time, Vermeulen was praise for his hard work by his Bulls family.

The captain received the Bulls Currie Cup Player of the year and the Fans' Player of the Year.

Stravino Jacobs was also awarded for his impressive form. The 21-year-old wing walked away with Bulls U21 back of the year and the Most Improved player of the year.
