Brad: 'We gave it away'

Sharks coach Brad McLeod-Henderson admitted they were their own worst enemies in their Currie Cup encounter with the Free State Cheetahs at the weekend.

The Sharks and the played to a 30-all draw in their Round Six encounter at the Free State stadium in Bloemfontein.

Cheetahs flyhalf Willie du Plessis kicked a penalty at the death to rob the visitors of a victory.

Brad McLeod-Henderson accepted the draw but admitted that victory would have been much sweeter.

"With the 80 minutes we had four points in the bag and then gave it away,"the Sharks mentor said.

"Obviously I am happy with the way the guys came back.

"For the last 20 minutes there was just one team on the field and to end with a draw is really gut wrenching," McLeod-Henderson added.

He added that they will have play "much better" against the Blue Bulls in Pretoria next Saturday.

"There are some positives to build on," the coach said.

"Obviously they are still a threat as the competition is still wide open and we can't afford another loss."
