Double blow for battered Bulls

The embattled Blue Bulls have been dealt a double blow on Monday, with two key players ruled out for at least the next month - through injury.

Flyhalf Jacques-Louis Potgieter has been ruled out for at least four weeks, following a rib injury he suffered in the 17-41 loss to Western Province at Newlands at the weekend.

According to Blue Bulls team doctor Org Strauss the flyhalf suffered a rib dislocation in a loss that saw the Bulls drop to second-from-last place on the standings - just ahead of the Eastern Province Kings on points difference.

Prop Morné Mellett, who underwent a scope on his knee last week, has been ruled out for four weeks as well.

Strauss confirmed that flyhalf Tian Schoeman has recovered from injury though and will be fit for selection against the EP Kings at Loftus Versfeld on Saturday.

Dean Greyling (calf), Jurgen Visser (toe), Akona Ndungane (Achilles) and Lohan Jacobs (flu) will only train on Tuesday.

Bjorn Basson will be available next week.

Pierre Spies, Flip van der Merwe, Arno Botha, Frik Kirsten and Jaco Visagie remain long term casualties.
