Griquas 'rotate' injured props
Griquas were able to name an unchanged starting XV for their central-unions Currie Cup derby with the Free State Cheetahs in Kimberley on Saturday.
The winless Griquas team received a timely boost on Wednesday when lock Jaco Nepgen and prop Steph Roberts - who were not able to train earlier in the week - passed late fitness tests.
Roberts (hip) and Nepgen (neck) were injured in the 15-33 loss to the Pumas in Nelspruit last week.
While they were cleared for the encounter with the Cheetahs, there was a rotation of props on the bench.
Nicolaas van Dyk injured his ankle ligaments in Nelspruit and will be sidelined for the next few weeks.
However, veteran Janro van Niekerk is fit again and he comes onto the bench in the place of Van Dyk.
Van Niekerk can scrum on both sides of the front row - loosehead and tighthead.
Griquas: 15 Francois Brummer, 14 Ederies Arendse, 13 Jonathan Francke, 12 Wayne Stevens (captain), 11 PJ Vermeulen, 10 Dean Grant, 9 Tian Meyer, 8 Carel Greeff, 7 Ruaan Lerm, 6 Marnus Schoeman, 5 Jaco Nepgen, 4 Jonathan Adendorf, 3 Ewald Van Der Westhuizen, 2 Martin Bezuidenhout, 1 Steph Roberts.
