Axed Sharks coach joins Bulls

NEWS: Former Sharks coach Sean Everitt is reportedly a new addition to the Bulls' coaching team.

Everitt, who was axed by the Sharks in November, is set to join the Bulls as a consultant with immediate effect.

Everitt's new role will see him reunited with former boss Jake White at the Bulls.

Everitt, who was part of the Sharks' coaching set-up since 2008, served as one of White's assistants at the Sharks in 2013.

It has been reported that Everitt will initially assist the Bulls in the Currie Cup and could be brought into the fold for the URC and Champions Cup campaigns.

The 53-year-old was appointed as an assistant in a Currie Cup-winning year in 2008, and he has successfully come through the ranks being involved in five Currie Cup finals.

He notably coached the unbeaten Sharks Under-19s to the SA Rugby U19 Championship title in 2018, and thereafter he assumed the role as head coach for the 2020 Super Rugby campaign, where they were top of the log when Covid brought an abrupt end to the campaign.

However, the 53-year-old bumped into challenges in the United Rugby Championship (URC) and the Sharks' humiliating 0-35 defeat to Cardiff at Kings Park in November proved to be his last match in charge.
