WPRFU: New Vice President
NEWS: The Western Province Rugby Football Union (WPRFU) has confirmed that Ronald Bantom has been elected the Union's Vice President.
According to WPRFU's official statement, Bantom was duly elected Vice President at the special general meeting on Monday.
Bantom was the only nomination received from members of the WPRFU after a call for nominations closed on February 20, 2021.
Bantom is a seasoned rugby administrator who holds an Honours degree from the University of the Western Cape and has served in leadership positions in his career as a school principal and various other community sports organisations and club rugby structures.

WPRFU President Zelt Marais said: "WP Rugby welcomes the election of Ronald Bantom as Vice-President. As a seasoned and industrious administrator, Bantom will bring much-needed skills to the WPRFU.
"Bantom has also recently been seconded to the board of Western Province Professional Rugby, where he will make further valuable contributions."
Bantom said: “I am looking forward to contributing positively to ensuring that WP Rugby keeps its rightful place as one of the best rugby unions in the world due to ingredients available to it. This includes its schools, clubs, universities, the stadium, support, sponsors and the powerful WP Rugby brand."
The election of Bantom into the presidency is a timeous bolstering of the senior leadership ranks in the WPRFU.
