VIDEO: Bulls give Wilco Louw update
NEWS: The Bulls received two pieces of good news upon their return to South African shores this week.
The first is that tighthead prop Wilco Louw’s injury is not as severe as initially thought. The big prop left the field in the 31st minute of the game with what initially looked like a serious shoulder injury.
Director of Rugby Jake White confirmed that Louw has an AC joint injury but that it is not as bad as initially suspected and he should be back on the field by the end of February.
"Look it’s not as bad as we thought initially," White explained.
"But he will miss a few games. We are lucky enough that we don’t play too many games between now and the end of February, so hopefully by the end of February he should be back.
"It may be earlier but we’re not going to take a chance, considering there is so much rugby left.
"He just hurt his AC joint and it is not as bad as initially thought. They thought it might be his shoulder, but it is the lower form of AC injury that you can get, so it is positive." White added.
The second piece of good news is that Springbok fullback Wille le Roux will be available for selection this week for the big Champions Cup encounter with Bordeaux-Begles at Loftus this weekend.
"He will be back this week. His leave has been broken up into two blocks, with the first one finished, and then he will get another block in February," White revealed.
Le Roux has a personal matter and as such his leave was split into two batches.
