Sharks land a big Samoan

The 27-year-old Samoa international is unmistakable with his flowing dreadlocks and has become a fans favourite at the club in a very short space of time.

Ioane has played 24 games for Sharks and scored six tries.

He played Super Rugby with the Highlanders and provincial rugby with Otago before joining the Premiership club.

In 2014 he was named in Samoa squad for their 2014 European tour.

He debuted in Samoa's second tour match, starting against Canada.

“TJ has been a revelation since he joined us. He is an uncompromising player who gets through a massive workload in every game he plays," said Director of Rugby Steve Diamond.

"He also has an eye for the tryline.

"His performances for Sharks were monitored by other clubs but he wanted to stay with us and help us achieve our goals of becoming one of the leading teams in the Premiership".
