SA hooker extends stay at Sixways

Haupt has signed a contract extension with Worcester Warriors until the end of the season, after impressing following a short-term spell at Sixways.

The South African, who arrived at Warriors in October, has made five appearances for the club and will continue to provide competition for the number two position for the remainder of the 2017/18 campaign.

The 28-year-old previously played in the Vodacom Cup in South Africa for the Blue Bulls and also represented South Western District Eagles, scoring five tries in just nine appearances in 2016.

"Kurt has done well for us and will no doubt continue to contribute to the Warriors cause," Warriors Director of Rugby Alan Solomons said.

Meanwhile, scrumhalf Peter Stringer has now left the club after coming to the end of a short-term deal.

Solomons added: "We'd like to thank Strings for his efforts over the past few months.

"He's been great around the squad and has played a key role in helping develop some of our younger players during the past few months. We wish him all the best in the future."
