Ackermann robbed at gun point

NEWS: Gloucester's South African star Ruan Ackermann's holiday has nearly turned tragic.

Ackermann confirmed in a social media post that he was robbed while on holiday in South Africa.

The back row revealed that he had been robbed at gunpoint in a post on his Instagram profile.

The post read: "Hello Everyone. Had a bad experience yesterday! Got hijacked and gun pointed. Everything stolen. Grateful for the blessing of God that kept us safe. If anyone needs me just DM me."

Ackermann, 24, is the son of Gloucester coach Johan Ackermann, and joined the club in August 2017 and has made 40 appearances for the Cherry and Whites.

Gloucester's next game is on Friday, February 14 against Exeter.
