Another Saffa heads to SAcester

TRANSFER NEWS: Johan Ackermann has managed to lure another South African player to the Premiership side Gloucester.

However, this time Ackermann did target the Sharks - a huge relief for Lions coach Swys de Bruin.

According to reports, the Sharks hooker Franco Marias will join up with Gloucester after the Sharks were knocked out of the Super Rugby play-offs.

The South African hooker has been signed by the Cherry and Whites for the 2018-19 season but his arrival has been delayed by his current side’s involvement in the Super Rugby season, which ended at the weekend as they were beaten 10-40 by the Crusaders in the quarter-finals in Christchurch.

Marais has not featured for the Sharks in recent weeks but is expected to have a break before he joins up with his new Gloucester team-mates for preseason.

Lions prop Ruan Dreyer will also head to Gloucester at the conclusion of his side's Super Rugby campaign.

While there are still huge amount of uncertainties around lock Franco Moster's transfer to Gloucester, the Premiership team remain adamant that they had signed Mostert from the Lions.

However,  the Lions revealed that they will dispute the transfer on the grounds of irregular player movement.
