Curry twins to stay at the Sharks
The twins have been featuring in the first team all season, and are the latest players to come through the club’s Academy system, which has also produced Ross Harrison, Josh Beaumont, James Mitchell, Cameron Neild, Mark Jennings, James Flynn, Mike Haley, Sam James and Will Addison who are regulars in the first team.
Ben and Tom have made huge strides in the first team considering their age of just 18. This season, they became only the fourth set of twins to play side-by-side in the Premiership. Tom also became the youngest player ever to score a try in the Premiership when he touched down at Bristol last October.
Both were called in the England U20 squad for the Six Nations campaign, and have made a big impact when they have played. Tom featured in the side’s two opening fixtures, including scoring a debut try against France at Sandy Park. Ben made his debut for the side against Italy and was awarded Man of the Match.
Speaking about the announcement, Director of Rugby Steve Diamond said: "I’m delighted that both Ben and Tom have signed long-term deals at the club.
"They will play key parts in the club’s vision of developing players in the Academy and bringing them through to the first team. This shows our commitment to bringing through the best of the North West’s youngsters.
"The Academy side made the final this year for the first time ever and we are now looking to work with most of those players and help them progress to the first team squad in years to come,"
