Lamb and Irish slaughter Bath

London Irish recorded a fairly comfortable 16-0 over Bath at the Recreation Ground On Saturday with flyhalf Ryan Lamb scoring all of his sides points.

The visitors led 10-0 at the break thanks to a Lamb try, conversion and penalty combo, while Bath just could not break down the Exiles defence.

Lamb, a former Gloucester player, missed his first penalty attempt but made amends with his try after 12 minutes of play. He extended their lead with a penalty after 24 minutes while Bath just had no answers and struggled to produce any points scoring opportunities in front of their home fans.

Steve Meehan tried to inspire his side by introducing creative Fijian Nicky Little but it was just not going to be Bath's day.

Lamb added a penalty on 53 minutes before completing his points scoring set with a Drop Goal on 67 minutes.

The win is a big bonus for the Exiles after a disappointing defeat last weekend while Bath, having seemingly turned the corner in recent weeks, will be searching for answers after a bad evening at the Rec.
