Quins secure scrumhalf's services

Harlequins scrumhalf Karl Dickson has extended his contract with the Club until the end of the 2016/17 season.

Harlequins Director of Rugby Conor O'Shea commented on the announcement: "Karl is one of the most competitive and best people you will come across.

"Together with Danny [Care], he is integral to everything we do and the way we play.

"He has achieved a lot over the years with us and I know he will keep on pushing us and himself to be better.”

The 32-year-old is an integral member of the Harlequins squad who has made over 100 appearances for the Club since he joined in 2009 from Bedford Blues.

He has scored 16 tries since his move to London and was a key player in the Challenge Cup victory campaign in 2011 and the Premiership win in 2012.

Dickson  has also represented England, featuring in the second mid-week Test against the South African Barbarians in the summer of 2012.

Off the pitch he is a qualified referee with a view to potentially becoming a professional once his playing career is over.

Dickson added: "I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at 'Quins and the success we have had over the past six seasons as a squad.

"I am delighted to extend my contract for a further two seasons with the club.”
