SA hooker quits English club to return home
NEWS: Gloucester confirmed that Corné Fourie has left Kingsholm with immediate effect.
The hooker, who can also play in the loosehead prop position, will return home to South Africa having played for the Cherry and Whites 14 times since joining the club in September 2019.
The English club revealed that the 32-year-old will pursue opportunities closer to home.
"Gloucester would like to thank Corné for his contributions during his time with us and we wish him the very best for the future," said a statement on the team's website.
Fourie joined Gloucester from the Stormers.
Before his spell in Cape Town, Fourie represented the Lions between 2014 and 2018.
He also played for the Blue Bulls and the Pumas earlier in his career.
