Savea shuts down 'fake' 'Quins deal
According to The Rugby Paper’s article on Sunday, Savea was heavily linked with a move to the Harlequins, after England wing Marland Yarde's rapid exit from the London club.
Savea did not make the All Blacks squad for the November Tests and a lucrative Premiership deal could be appealing.
However, the speculations seemed far-fetched given that he recently re-signed with New Zealand Rugby and the Hurricanes on a two-year deal.
Furthermore, Fatima Savea, the wing’s wife, has blasted the news on Twitter.
"This is news to both Julian and I! piss off with your rumours," in response to a Tweet which suggested the move would go ahead.
When one Twitter user asked her if Savea could come to the UK for three months, she replied: "Not even for a minute. He isn’t missing the birth of his child in December,"
A few hours later, Savea himself took to the social media platform to rubbish the story.
The United Kingdom-based fans will, however, get to see him line out for the Barbarians next weekend – against New Zealand.
