Trio of Welshman commit to Sale

Three Sale Sharks Welshmen - scrumhalf Dwayne Peel, front row forward Marc Jones and flyhalf Nick Macleod - have all signed extensions to their contracts to keep them with the Premiership club.

Peel, who has signed for a further two seasons, joined the Sharks from Scarlets in 2008 and has been an instrumental player at the club. He has been capped 76 times by Wales, and represented the British and Irish Lions on three occasions.

He commented: I'm delighted to extend my contract. I'm having a good time here. Exciting times lie ahead and I'll be glad to be part of it."

Macleod, who has also added two seasons to his contract, also joined in 2008 and made his debut against his former club Cardiff Blues in October of that year. He has made the No.10 shirt his own this season, and is the club’s leading goal kicker having amassed 231 points already with nine games to play.

He said, "It's fantastic news for me. I'm extremely happy to extend my contract. This season has seen a real turnaround, and has rekindled my enthusiasm. We've shown glimpses of what we can do, and things can only get better!"

Jones, who is still only 24, despite being in his seventh season at the club has added a further year to his contract.

He said, "Sharks are definitely a club going in the right direction, something I want to be part of. With some big signings coming in, there's only one way this club's going.
