Wasps edge Warriors

PREMIERSHIP REPORT: A late Dan Robson try saw Wasps edge Worcester Warriors 30-26 at Sixways to claim their third Premiership victory of the season.

Duncan Weir scored 16 of Warriors’ points as he opened the scoring with a long-range penalty before Jimmy Gopperth crossed in the corner to make it 5-3 to Wasps.

Weir kicked Worcester in front on 33 minutes before converting Marco Mama’s close-range score on the stroke of half-time to move his side 13-5 ahead.

Billy Searle closed the gap with two penalties before Warriors responded with another three-pointer from Weir on 54 minutes.

Zach Kibirige collected Gopperth’s cross-field kick to touch down for Wasps’ second try to level the scores at 16-16 on the hour mark.

Weir dispatched his fourth penalty before Jack Willis crashed over with Searle converting to give the visitors the lead.

Warriors hit back a try from Ollie Lawrence which Weir converted but Robson went over on 71 minutes and Searle added the extras to seal a bonus-point win.
