Experienced SA scrumhalf set to join exodus to the north

TRANSFER NEWS: The Cheetahs are set to lose one of their most experienced players.

According to Wales Online Rugby, scrumhalf Shaun Venter will join Welsh side the Ospreys on a two-year deal.

The 32-year-old Venter has been with the Cheetahs since 2014. He also played for the Southern Kings and the Pumas.

Losing Venter will be a big loss for the Cheetahs as they are in a rebuilding phase.

The Bloemfontein side finished second last in Conference A in the 2018/2019 Pro14 season.

They finished the Pro14 season with eight wins, 12 losses and one draw.
