Scottish franchises eye Jones
According to the BBC, the Scottish Rugby Union have enquired about bringing Jones to either Edinburgh or Glasgow Warriors.
Jones has picked up two caps for Scotland this year so far and scored two tries at Murrayfield in the 22-23 defeat to Australia last weekend.
Enquiries have been made regarding a possible transfer fee, paid by Scottish Rugby to Western Province to negotiate the early release of Jones, but the province are believed to be resistant to this route.
The player's agent has reportedly told BBC Scotland his client is "very happy" in South Africa while Scottish Rugby declined to comment.
Jones could miss part of the Stormers' Super Rugby campaign if he is selected in Scotland's Six Nations squad next year.
According to one of World Rugby's regulations, teams must release players during international windows
