Williams: 'It has been frustrating'

The Wales international recovered from foot surgery to play in the Rugby World Cup, only to aggravate the problem against Australia in the pool stages. A further operation followed, sidelining him for the best part of four months.

Williams was back to his best as the tournament progressed, starring against France and England.

However, a hamstring tear picked up in the Championship final against Italy meant he had to play the waiting game once again before wearing the Scarlets jersey.

After just playing 60 minutes the whole season, the 25-year-old returned against Glasgow Warriors last week – who won the match 46-10.

The defeat to Glasgow just added to the injured fullback's dismal year.

Williams said: "It has been very frustrating. I've only played 60 minutes for the Scarlets this season except the 80 minutes on the weekend; I haven't played a lot of rugby,"

Even though, Williams experience a defeat he is still exited about just being fit to play.

"I'm really looking forward to getting back out on the park now," he stated.

After enduring two home defeats against Cardiff Blues and Glasgow, Scarlets have a mammoth task to ensure a place in the Pro12 play-offs.

The defeat to Glasgow saw the Scarlets fall out of the top four for the first time this season.

Williams added: "It is huge for us boys to be in the top four. We just need to get two wins from the remaining games and hopefully we'll make top four."

Saturday, April 30 Scarlets will take on Newport Gwent Dragons at the Principality Stadium, in the fourth installment of Judgement Day.
